Voyage de la Vie at Resort World, Sentosa

Touted as a "theatrical rock circus spectacular", Voyage de la Vie does not disappoint for a circus act put up at Festive Grand, Resort World Singapore. Produced by the man behind Cirque du Soleil's Ka, this show is visually pleasing with alot of action on stage and off stage to capture one's attention.

Like any circus, the main protaganist is homeboy Jonathan Leong of Singapore Idol fame. His voice is strong and suits his character of the boy on a journey to a tee. As the show brings you through his journey of discovering life, the boy meets with various "lessons" or should I say circus acts along the way. From the typical slicing of a body in half illusions, trapeze, contortionists etc, Voyage de la Vie is able to keep the audience asking for more. Needless to say, having the cast come amongst the audience adds to its personability.

I managed to snag the $88 tickets which put me in the back half, upper stalls of the theatre. Over here, one may be blocked by other patrons or kids sitting on raised stools. I would suggest the $108 tickets as they are nearer to the stage. More expensive tickets are naturally closer to the stage but you may miss out on the high aerial acts due to proximity.

Overall, the 2h show was truly enjoyable for its visual splendour, good sound system & music and charisma of the cast. Definitely a show worth catching if you stop by in Singapore.
