Here fishy fishy... at the SEA Aquarium
Who would've thought that going to the aquarium was so popular and that my foot would get run over by a stroller?
The SEA Aquarium situated within Resorts World Sentosa is the new attraction on the tiny island south of Singapore. At the time of this article, the aquarium had just opened so expect lots of tourists and school groups. I would definitely suggest visiting on a weekday as weekends are just too chaotic to properly enjoy the aquarium.
Shipwrecks make perfect homes for fishes and marine life
Spotted baby stingray and some big eyed fish
The staff cleaning out the tank and some really nice sea dragons
Corals, fish and giant spider crabs
The biggest surprise of all; this dolphin stopped right in front of me for a good 15 secs
Beautiful jellyfish (and my favorite exhibit)
The highlight of the aquarium; the Open Ocean (huge tank)
Nemo and his friends
Let sleeping sharks lie
Hungry yet?
Although well laid out, the SEA Aquarium lacks the educational touch that other aquariums that I've been to so emphasize. Be it marine conservation or just educating the young ones on marine life; the SEA Aquarium is a mish-mash of fish tanks, throw in some Middle Eastern gold souk history, a history on Admiral Zheng He conquering the seas, and that's basically what you get really. Oceanic themed influences with some really beautiful corals and fish.
How to get here: Take the monorail($4) from Vivocity and drop at the first station on Sentosa. Or take bus RWS8($2) from right outside Vivocity which will drop you at RWS. 5-10mins walk to the SEA Aquarium.
